Monica Kigwa is pictured here looking at her farm production records kept on the door of her farmhouse. Monica lives in Kamuli district of Uganda and she is a widow with six children, four of her own and two she has adopted. In 2006 she produced 174 Kgs of coffee on her farm after being re-trained by Kulika. The coffee is not organic but it is UTZ Certified Keeping accurate farm records is vital and Kulika develop tools that assist farmers, many of whom are illiterate, to keep accurate information. This helps the farmer plan their year, and see which crops are performing best on their land year on year.
